Summer 2012 Clash of colors (yellow)

Browsing the web and I see a lot of clash of colors, some are bold combination. I don't know about you but I like a good clash of colors, though not everybody can master that skill.

This is my favourite. She is a popular blogger. Great tasty clash of yellow and blue.

I simply love that sapphire blue color. I have this sapphire blue gold ring which is wire wrapped in a heart with topaz sparkling crystals.(check out my e-store)

Another sexy outfit. The flirty bright yellow top with green strips short shirt.

Yellow top and green floral skirt. Somehow the outfit feels a bit too busy.

A very yellow blaze with light jean shorts. She choose a light rose shirt inside.

Summer 2012 bright color - red and orange

Bright colors are in this summer. It can be a bright color skirt, shorts, shoes, tops or dress. However you have to know how to pair them nicely in your outfit so that they pop but not feel too much.

I love this red lace shirt! white short skirt and black simple strapy high heels. She definitely catches attention in the street.

I will pair her with this red earrings, that red red briolette wire wrapped with sterling silver filled wires.

A fun short A-line skirt in orange and the same color sandals. She accessories with a straw hat and same tone purse which gives her a vintage star look!

Pair with this fun orange earrings. The same fun style and because it is a small stud earrings, it won't become too much.

Last one is my favourite. White shirt, polka dot black white shorts and brown belt. It looks like a simple outfit. She pairs with this gorgeous red sandals, plus her red lips make her stand out

Wedding dress 2012 from Claire Pettibone

Today I'm re-arranging my jewellery works & found this elegant silver one: 9 silver crystal tear drops on silver chain - sparkling and fabulous. Perfect for the wedding season.

Jewellery photoshooting (myself being model)

I decide to take some pictures of my jewelry works (see my store). As I want to show how my jewelry look like on a person so I become my own model & take photos by myself. This is how I did it:

What is need:
a camera (I have a Lumix Panasonic DMC-TS3) ,
a tripod, 
good lights (sunny day under nature light),
good background. In my backyard, my morning glory is blooming beautifully in the morning & it climbs the fence so that I have a perfect green nature background. 
One more thing: I prefer wearing black for most jewelry photo shooting.

I set up the tripod, put a mirror in the back of the camera so that I can see what will be taken (remember that I take photo of myself). I set the camera to wait for 2 second to take pictures. This is to avoid shaking or moving the camera while pressing the button. It also gives me time to pose and keep still.

This the first one. As you can see the light is not even on my face cause the light comes from the back of my left side. You can hardly see the real color of the jewelry. (see this necklace and matching earrings)

I moved the tripod around to test it out and adjust the exposure settings. I got this one. It seems it is exposed too much (see this choker)

I changed the exposure settings and this seems a better one so far. (see this statement necklace)

There are definitely room for improvement. And there is always gimp to edit the pictures.

Wedding dress 2012 Grace Loves Lace

Summer is the hot season for weddings. It is always so nice to see beautiful brides and grooms taking pictures in the park. There is something about that white wedding dress for most women. For me, I love laces on the wedding dress. I made a silver necklace with tear drop crystal beads for the wedding season (see this elegant silver necklace).

Am I fat?

I would say a lot of girls tend to think at least one part of their body is fat......either the belly, or the bum, or the arms, or the legs.....there is always something that we are not satisfied with. The fact is: it is not as bad as you think.

Simple summer looks which never go out of date

This summer has been quite hot in Montreal. We haven't had this many days of hot weather for many years. I decided not to go outside during the weekend & stayed home to make some jewellery piece for my summer look (see my e-store of my hand made jewellery). Here are some summer looks that I like a lot. These are from past years but they seem never go out of date. Let me know if you agree :)

First one: Jennifer Aniston. A simple white camisole, boyfriend style khaki pants with brown leather belt and wedge sandal with straps crossing at the ankle. She looks gorgeous (has she ever not been gorgeous?) in this simple summer outfit. She seems wearing mostly basic color and she can pull it off with simple style. White and khaki is definitely a clean combination for summer look.

Second: Jessica Alba. Navy blue and white strips summer dress (another simple dress), emerald green sandals, she matches with the same green scarf and the hat makes her standing out and a big hobo bag. I love that emerald green sandals. The gladiator sandals are simple style with fewer straps. It balances well with the scarf and hat.

Third: Sienna Miller. She can pull off any non traditional fashion look. See this one: a sweet white summer dress with red polka dots, then she put a jean vest over it to balance out the sweetness of the dress. The short boots is not summerish but don't you agree that they go so well with the whole outfit. And she finished off the look with a cross body brown square bag. Bravo Sienna. You are a true fashion icon.

Last one: Reese Witherspoon. A little white dress is a must for summer. She only accessories with a long necklace, a large white fabric bag and simple brown sandals. She didn't need too much to add & she looks great!

Fabulous blue agate pendant wire wrapped with silver wire

I've been making jewellery for some time now (see my e-store). What I like to make the most is wire wrapping. Take a look of one pendant that I wrapped with silver wire.

This blue agate pendant is wrapped with sterling silver wire. This glass like stone is nature gemstone in fantastic different shades of blue with white, light blue striation. Don't you find it looking like clouds in the blue sky.

Summer dress 2012 candy color, long skirt & unique people print

Okay I decide to start my blog as having a place to write my thoughts, whims, ideas and my handmade jewellery  

Fashion seems to be a hot topic for a lot of girls. I'm not exceptional. I like fashion, enjoy seeing nicely dressed people in the street. I’m a computer programmer so I’m used to having rules and formula when I develop an application. However when it comes to fashion, there is no absolute formula such as 1+1=2.

Love this candy color stripy dress flowing in the wind. However you have to be slim to look as fabulous as her.

Dress with people print. The blue straps as backgroud, exaggrated lips and big red flowers make the dress unique with style!

Long skirt is in this summer. That long red skirt surely draw all the attentions.
